Today I was babysitting my friends son, he's 9. She's 25. We talked about alot, smart kid.. So I thought I'd let some of you single mamas in on our conversation.
Talking about his "girlfriend"..
So, what do you think "love" is?
Love is marriage & trust.... Love is not cheating on someone.
You are so right, which is amazing because most men don't understand that much.
He smiles & nods, then starts talking to me about his dad.
I really do miss my dad though.
Yeah? Do you ever blame your mom for him not being around?
No, I don't blame my mom or my dad, see, my mom just doesn't trust my dad.
... he starts telling me about his friend that smokes cigarettes.
That's really bad for you..
Oh I know, my mom smokes them, only because she's stressed out... One time my mom was hungry but she didn't eat because there was only enough for me; I felt so bad eating without her but she told me to.
then he adds...
Alot of my friends are spoiled.. But I'm not, my mom works hard for everything we have & it feels good to know that, I wouldn't want to be spoiled, I know my mom loves me without having to always give me things.
*my heart melts*
To all you single moms, young moms too, your baby loves & appreciates you. Your child knows you do your best & that's enough for them, if this 9 year old doesn't prove that, I don't know what could. She's raising a young man, on her own & doing an amazing job... It's possible.
Abusing your children makes you a shitty mom.
Neglecting your children makes you a shitty mom.
Leaving them with your parents to go out and party or drink or smoke makes you a shitty mom.
Never seeing your children makes you a shitty mom.
Missing milestones because you don’t care to be around makes you a shitty mom.
Being under 20 does not makes you a shitty no .
